MOUTH OF INDIFFERENCE - Steps to an Ecology of Mind
Nonostante la pubblicazione di questo disco risalga a qualche mese fa, i Mouth of Indifference meritano comunque una nostra segnalazione. Rikk e Lontra si muovono dal '94, e hanno nel tempo ragionato quattro lavori, tutti autoprodotti. A ben vedere, la loro sembra una volontà di rimanere nell'ombra: non ci spiegheremmo altrimenti come nessuno abbia potuto notare il loro talento, la loro crescita. Sei nuovi brani, per i due umanoidi romani, il cui principale assillo artistico sembra essere la costruzione di una certa intensità nelle loro composizioni elettroniche. Giovani, spigliati, già maturi, i MOI studiano le evoluzioni dei suoni semplici dei loro sintetizzatori con la logica della perfezione e dell'approfondimento. E quando si concedono alla sperimentazione - come nel caso dei 18 minuti di "Astral Projections" - riescono anche ad esprimersi con una certa classe.
Una bella scoperta.
